Secondary Emails
Secondary emails are additional email addresses associated with your HTB Account, beyond your primary email. These secondary emails are primarily used by specific HTB platforms to enhance integration with platform-specific features. In case you have a university email and you want to get the student plan on the Academy or add a company email to link your Enterprise account you can add a secondary email here:
Whenever you add and verify a new secondary email, it will be locked for 14 days. If the email is a business email address used to log in to the Enterprise Platform, it will be locked permanently. You can still use the secondary email to connect your accounts even if it is locked.
Unable to add secondary email or update primary email: “You cannot use this email address!”
This error is typically seen when the email address you are trying to add as a secondary email or update to a primary email is already registered to another Hack The Box account. Each email address can only be associated with one HTB account at a time.
To resolve this issue, users can go about it in two ways:
Option 1: Change the email on your existing HTB Account
If you want to use this email as a secondary email on your personal/main HTB Account, you will need to first change the email on the HTB Account where it is currently registered.
Example: We can say that you have:
Account A (Personal):
[email protected]<- As a main/personal accountAccount B (Work/School):
[email protected]<- You would like to add this email as a secondary to Account A.
Steps:
Log in to your Account B; in this example, it would be
[email protected].Navigate to user settings.
Update your primary email to something else, let's say
[email protected].Now, you can go ahead and add
[email protected]as a secondary email to Account A.
Option 2: Delete the existing HTB Account
If you no longer need the account associated with this email, you could delete it entirely.
Example:
You have created Account B by accident and have not really used it.
You have no progress worth keeping on that account.
Simply delete Account B, then add
[email protected]as a secondary email to Account A.
If you have made progress on multiple accounts (such as an enterprise-linked account and a personal account) and would like to merge your progress, we would suggest you to reach out to the customer support team via the support chat or by emailing us.
We review these requests on a case-by-case basis, and we'll guide you through the best process of properly linking your accounts so that all your progress is preserved.

Cookie Settings
The Cookie Settings is an account-level setting, meaning your preferences apply across all Hack The Box services linked to your account. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time by clicking 'Change your consent'. Additionally, Hack The Box has implemented cross-domain consent sharing across its ecosystem. This ensures that when you provide or update your cookie consent on one HTB domain, your preferences automatically carry over to all other HTB-related domains, streamlining your experience and respecting your privacy choices across the platform.
Deleting the Account
You can delete your account by scrolling to the bottom of the page:
Your account, along with all associated activity and progress on HTB Labs, HTB CTF, HTB Academy, and Forums, will be permanently deleted.
For HTB Accounts linked to Enterprise, please reach out to your Admin to proceed with the deletion.
This action is irreversible. Once you delete your account, restoring your account or any associated data will be impossible.
