Creating an account on LetsDefend

Welcome to LetsDefend. LetsDefend is a hands-on Blue Team training platform that enables people to gain practical experience by investigating real cyber attacks inside a simulated SOC.

You can get started by creating an account on LetsDefend here: https://app.letsdefend.io/accounts/login

You can create a LetsDefend Account using Google, LinkedIn, Hack The Box OAuth methods, or by using your email address.

If you already have an HTB Account, but don't have a LetsDefend Account yet, by logging in with your HTB Account, a new user account will be created on LetsDefend with the same email address. You can start using LetsDefend with that newly created account.

Clicking on 'Create an account' will direct you to create an account with Hack The Box, since LetsDefend is now managed by Hack The Box.

Editing Account information on LetsDefend

You can view your profile information on LetsDefend by navigating to the profile on the top-right and clicking on 'Edit Profile'.

As we mentioned earlier, LetsDefend is managed by Hack The Box, and syncs profile information across from your HTB Account. Therefore, to edit your profile information, full name, profile picture, username, passwords, email, or even to delete your account, navigate to https://account.hackthebox.com/dashboard

Change/Reset Password on LetsDefend

Here we will explain further how password management works for your LetsDefend account and what options are available to you.

Option 1: Manage Your LetsDefend Password Through Hack The Box

If you access LetsDefend via your HTB account, you have an option to manage password centrally through HTB.

  1. Scroll down until you see Password and Authentication.

  2. Update your password.

Any changes you make here will apply to your unified login.

Option 2: Keep a Separate LetsDefend Password

You also have the option to maintain a password specific to your LetsDefend account, separate from your HTB credentials. Your accounts will remain unified.

You can still access LetsDefend through HTB using 'Sign in with Hack The Box', but you will also be able to log in to LetsDefend directly using this separate password.

To reset your LetsDefend-specific password:

  1. Click Forgot Password.

  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to set a new LetsDefend password
