Subscription Models

On HTB Academy, we offer two different types of subscription models: Cube-based and Access-based.

Cube-based subscription

Cube-based subscriptions operate as a recurring monthly wallet framework. When you enroll in a Cube-based plan, your account follows these rules:

  • Monthly Allocation: The platform automatically charges your payment method and awards a discounted batch of Cubes to your profile every month. The exact number of points added depends on the specific pricing tier you purchase.

  • Permanent Module Ownership: You use your accumulated Cubes to purchase individual Academy modules. Any module you unlock using Cubes remains bound to your profile with permanent, life-long access. Your access to that material or cubes will never expire, even if you cancel your monthly recurring subscription. Access-Based Subscriptions

Access-based subscriptions function as an all-inclusive content license. When you enroll in an access-based plan (such as the Silver Annual, Gold Annual or Student plans), your profile follows these rules:

  • Tier-Restricted Content: The subscription grants you immediate access to all educational modules up to a specified difficulty level for as long as your plan remains active. For example, both the Silver Annual Plan and the Student Plan unlock all training modules up to and including Tier 2.

  • Post-Expiration Review: If you fully complete a specific module while your access-based subscription is active, you retain the ability to enter, read, and review that specific completed module even after your overall subscription period ends. This does not include the step-by-step solutions.

  • Earned Completion Rewards as Cubes: When you successfully complete a module while utilizing an access-based subscription, the platform still awards your profile with standard bonus Cubes as a completion reward.

    • This includes the Web Penetration Tester, Penetration Tester, Junior Cybersecurity Analyst, AI Red Teamer, and SOC Analyst paths.

  • Unlimited Pwnbox usage

  • CPE credits submission

The Student Plan requires that you be a student or professor at an Educational or Academic Institution. This includes High School/Secondary School, University, Trade School, etc.

To qualify for the Student Plan, you don't need to change the email on your account; you should simply add the email provided by your academic institution as a secondary to your main HTB account. If the student plan remains unavailable after you have verified your educational email, or if you do not have an academic email, please contact support.

Any purchase made within the Academy Platform provides unlimited pwnbox time

Please note that HTB Academy subscriptions are separate from HTB Labs subscriptions. Separate plans must be purchased to access both services.

How Do I Cancel a Subscription?

You can cancel your recurring Hack The Box (HTB) Academy subscription at any time to halt upcoming automatic renewal charges.

To complete the cancellation process, navigate to your account settings and perform the following sequential actions:

  • Open your account options: Move your cursor to the top right corner of your webpage interface and click on your profile Avatar.

  • Access billing configurations: Click on the Plans and Subscriptions option from the drop-down selection menu.

  • Locate your current active tier: Review the centralized pricing dashboard screen to find your active plan details.

  • Terminate the recurring cycle: Click on the dedicated Cancel Subscription button positioned directly below your active plan parameters. Clicking this button immediately stops the auto-renewal process.

Please note that cancelling your subscription will keep your current month's or year's subscription active and running, but will prevent further automatic payments from going out from your default registered payment method.
