Permitted and Prohibited Hacking Targets
Hack only the provided targets: You must limit all hacking activities and curiosity strictly to the specific IP address or entry point provided to you on the HTB Network.
Do not hack unintended machines: You must not target gateways or other non-target nodes on the HTB Network (such as the
10.10.10.0/24subnet). If you accidentally compromise an unintended machine, you must not cause any damage, and you must inform the Hack The Box team immediately.Do not hack other members: The network is built so that direct communication between two member systems is prohibited. Attacking or connecting to other members' clients is strictly forbidden.
Prohibited Attack Types
Denial of Service (DoS) is strictly forbidden: You must not use any form of DoS attack on any machine, whether it is inside or outside of the HTB Network. If you accidentally perform a DoS attack, you must notify the Hack The Box team immediately.
System Security and Connection Recommendations
Use a dedicated machine for the HTB Network: We strongly recommend that you do not use your production PC to connect to the HTB Network. Instead, build a dedicated Virtual Machine (VM) or use a separate physical system just for this purpose.
Protect your personal data: The HTB Network is filled with security enthusiasts who possess the skills to hack systems. Hack The Box does not hold any responsibility for damage, theft, or loss of personal data. However, in the event of such an incident, we will cooperate fully with the authorities.
